NBC 4 New York/WNBC and Telemundo 47/WNJU Announce the Addition of Ana Hernandez as News Director

NEW YORK, NY – March 24, 2026 – Ana Hernandez has been named News Director for NBC 4 New York/WNBC and Telemundo 47/WNJU. A multiple-Emmy® award-winning journalist and weather specialist, Hernandez will join the leadership team of the powerhouse local television stations starting Monday, April 20. She will report to David Manney, Vice President of News for NBC 4 New York/WNBC and Telemundo 47/WNJU.

Hernandez joins NBC 4 New York and Telemundo 47 from Philadelphia, where she has served as News Director for Telemundo62/WWSI since 2019. She also leads weather planning and producing for the full duopoly with NBC10/WCAU. In her current role, Hernandez worked closely with WNJU over the years on a wide variety of news stories, which have included Puerto Rico’s recovery from Hurricane Maria, the COVID-19 outbreak, New Jersey elections and the manhunt for accused killer Luigi Mangione. She first joined WWSI in 2017 as Assistant News Director, arriving from Telemundo Puerto Rico/WKAQ in San Juan where she worked for fifteen years as an Executive Producer and Producer. She began her professional career in 2001 as a Producer Assistant for Univision Puerto Rico.

Ana Hernandez holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and a Master of Arts degree in Communications and Public Relations from Universidad del Sagrado Corazón in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She is married with a daughter.
