Telemundo Kicks Off 2026-27 Premier League Season with Extensive Spanish-language Coverage Beginning August 21

MIAMI, Fla. – August 18, 2026 – Following a historic summer of fútbol, Telemundo continues its year-round commitment to world-class soccer with Spanish-language coverage of the 2026-27 Premier League season beginning Friday, Aug. 21, across Telemundo, Universo, Telexitos and Peacock. 

The season kicks off Friday at 3 p.m. ET as reigning Premier League champion Arsenal hosts newly promoted Coventry City, returning to England’s topflight for the first time in 25 years. The opening weekend continues with a full slate of must-watch matchups featuring some of the world’s biggest clubs and stars, including Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea. 

On Saturday, Aug. 22, Universo presents Hull City vs. Manchester United at 7:25 a.m. ET as newly promoted Hull City makes its Premier League return against Manchester United. Everton vs. Crystal Palace follows at 10 a.m. ET on Universo. 

Sunday’s coverage features a pair of marquee matches on Telemundo, beginning at 9 a.m. ET as Manchester City hosts Bournemouth, followed by Newcastle United vs. Liverpool at 11:30 a.m. ET. Brighton vs. Aston Villa will also stream live on Peacock at 9 a.m. ET. 

Opening weekend concludes Monday, Aug. 24, as Fulham hosts Chelsea in a London matchup at 3 p.m. ET on Universo and Telexitos. 

The opening weeks will continue to deliver high-profile matchups across Telemundo’s platforms, including Liverpool vs. Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur vs. Newcastle on Saturday, Aug. 29; Manchester United vs. Ipswich Town on Sunday, Aug. 30; Aston Villa vs. Arsenal on Monday, Aug. 31; and Arsenal vs. Chelsea on Sunday, Sept. 6. 

Among the early-season highlights, Manchester City and Manchester United meet in the first Manchester Derby of the season on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 11:30 a.m. ET on Telemundo. 

Telemundo’s Premier League coverage will feature Carlota Vizmanos, Andres Cantor, Omar Zeron, Luis Omar Tapia, and Diego Balado alongside the rest of the Telemundo Deportes talent roster, delivering expert analysis, match commentary and comprehensive coverage throughout the season. Additional programming and talent assignments will be announced throughout the season.
