Miami, FL, July 2, 2026 – Telemundo and Peacock’s coverage of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ continues to break records as Mexico’s Round of 32 victory over Ecuador delivered a 18.9 million Total Audience Delivery (TAD), making it the most-watched soccer match in total audience in Spanish-language media history. Mexico vs. Ecuador also delivered a +35% increase over Mexico’s previously most-watched match record set on June 18 during the group stage (Mexico vs. Korea Republic, 14 million).

The match also ranks as the most-streamed soccer match in Spanish-language media history, delivering 9.7 million Average Minute Audience (AMA) across Peacock and Telemundo streaming platforms.

On linear, the match averaged 8.7 million viewers, making it the highest-rated telecast in Telemundo history, with a peak quarter-hour audience of 10 million viewers at 10:30 p.m. ET.

In addition, Telemundo marked its most watched total day ever with an average audience of 2.7 million viewers on Tuesday, June 30.
