MIAMI, FLA. – March 25, 2026 – Telemundo kicks off NBC Sports’ 2026 MLB season coverage in Spanish on Thursday, March 26, followed by a dynamic weekend of world-class sports from March 27–29, headlined by a U.S. Men’s National Team friendly against Belgium, a marquee international matchup between France and Colombia, and Sunday Night Basketball. The action unfolds across Telemundo, Universo, and Peacock, bringing fans closer to the road to the FIFA World Cup 2026™ and launching a new era of baseball coverage “en español.”
For the first time, Universo and Peacock will serve as the exclusive home of NBC Sports’ MLB coverage in Spanish, airing 25 games this coming season. Coverage begins Opening Day, Thursday, March 26, with a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. ET with Pittsburgh Pirates vs. New York Mets, followed by the only primetime game at 8 p.m. ET featuring Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Los Angeles Dodgers. José Luis López Salido and Adriana Monsalve lead coverage as play-by-play and analyst respectively with Diego Arrioja reporting. Additionally, El Pelotazo will cover MLB’s return, and Telemundo Deportes Ahora will debut a dedicated baseball program this season.
The weekend kicks off live from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, March 28 at 3 p.m. ET. The U.S. Men’s National Team faces Belgium in a high-profile international friendly as they continue their World Cup preparations against one of Europe’s top-ranked teams, with both Belgium and upcoming opponent Portugal ranked among the world’s elite. The match serves as a key test for the U.S. squad as anticipation builds toward this summer’s tournament. Coverage will be led on-site in Atlanta by Carlota Vizmanos as host alongside Andrés Cantor’s narration, Omar Zerón’s analysis, and Copán Álvarez’s reporting from the pitch. Postgame coverage follows with Futbol USA Extra at 5:30 p.m. ET across Telemundo, Universo, and Peacock.
On Sunday, March 29, Rumbo al Mundial continues with a highly anticipated international friendly between France and Colombia at 3 p.m. ET from Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland. As part of the “Road to 26” series, this matchup brings together two global powerhouses in one of the most compelling friendlies leading into the World Cup. Luis Omar Tapia and Diego Balado will call the action, with Isabella Echeverri reporting from the pitch, as both teams look to make a statement on the global stage. The match will air across Telemundo, Universo, and Peacock.
The weekend concludes with Sunday Night Basketball, as the Golden State Warriors take on the Denver Nuggets in a must-watch Western Conference showdown with major playoff implications. Coverage begins at 9:30 p.m. ET on Telemundo and Peacock, hosted by Adriana Monsalve alongside Álvaro Martín calling the game with analysis by Greivis Vásquez and Diego Balado while Diego Arrioja reports courtside.
