Gregory Jaimes Joins Telemundo 49 Tampa as News Anchor

Veteran Journalist to Anchor ‘Noticiero Telemundo 49’ Beginning March 9

TAMPA, Fla. – Feb. 19, 2026 – Telemundo 49 Tampa / WRMD, part of NBCUniversal Local’s Telemundo Station Group, announced Gregory Jaimes has been named news anchor for Noticiero Telemundo 49. He will make his on-air debut on Monday, March 9.

A veteran journalist with nearly 15 years of experience as a news anchor, reporter and producer, Jaimes joins Telemundo 49 from Univision Nevada / KINC in Las Vegas, where he served as an anchor for Noticias Univisión Nevada beginning in September 2024. 

Previously, Jaimes was a reporter for Telemundo Las Vegas / KBLR, part of Telemundo Station Group, covering breaking news and major events across Southern Nevada, including Super Bowl LVIII in 2024 and the return of Formula 1 racing to Las Vegas in 2023.

Earlier in his career, Jaimes worked as a reporter and producer in Caracas, Venezuela, contributing to digital and broadcast news coverage. He also served as a producer for Primer Impacto at Univision’s Caracas bureau and held reporting and editorial positions with Televen, Telecaribe, and Caraota Digital. 

Jaimes earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Universidad Santa María in Caracas, Venezuela.
