NEW YORK – August 20, 2024 – NBC News’ TODAY was the number-one morning show last week, topping ABC’s “Good Morning America” in the key demo A25-54. This marks TODAY’s 53rd consecutive weekly demo win and its largest non-Olympics win in 90 weeks. TODAY grew its demo lead over GMA and reduced the total viewer gap by 89% versus the prior year. Additionally, TODAY delivered a 13-week high in A25-54 (excluding Olympics).
Season to date, TODAY is the top-rated morning show in the key demo with an advantage 10 times higher over GMA compared to the prior season. This is TODAY’s best key demo start to a season versus GMA in six years.
