August 26, 2026 – NBC News will air a special one-hour primetime report tonight at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT honoring the extraordinary life and legacy of Dolly Parton.
Anchored by Lester Holt, Dolly: An NBC News Special will look back at Parton’s remarkable journey to stardom, her groundbreaking career and her lasting impact far beyond music. The hour will feature reports from NBC News’ Hoda Kotb, Andrea Canning, Keith Morrison and Josh Mankiewicz, as well as reflections from Parton’s collaborators and close friends, including singers Lauren Alaina and Bill Anderson, actress Danica McKellar and former NBC Entertainment Chairman Bob Greenblatt.
