Telemundo’s 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards Delivers Record-Breaking 112 Million Engagements Across Television, Digital and Social Platforms

Telemundo Ranks as #1 Spanish-language Television Network in Sunday Primetime Among Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers

Show Reaches 1.8 Million Total Viewers on Linear

Miami, FL, October 23, 2024 – Last Sunday’s broadcast of Telemundo’s 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards delivered a record-breaking 112 million engagements across television, digital and social platforms, +36% higher than 2023 and the highest engagement for an award special in Telemundo’s history. On linear, the show reached a cumulative audience of 1.8 million total viewers, including 512,000 adults 18-49, according to Nielsen. Delivering 225,000 adults 18-49 and 741,000 total viewers, the show won its timeslot and drove the network to #1 in both demos in Spanish-language television primetime.

This year’s Telemundo’s multi-platform coverage generated 106 million video views across social platforms, representing a +43% increase from 2023. The hour-long digital special titled Premios Billboard El PreShow, hosted from the blue carpet by Aleyda Ortiz and Gabriel Coronel, delivered +365% more views than 2023.  In addition, according to Talkwalker, the show was the #1 most social program across broadcast television with 1.2 million total interactions across Facebook, Instagram, X and YouTube.

Locally, the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards ranked as the #1 primetime program in its timeslot, regardless of language, among adults 18-49 in Los Angeles, and the #1 program on Spanish-language television in New York, Miami, Dallas, Chicago, Orlando, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Tampa, Boston and Charlotte in the demo.

Karol G led the night with eight wins, followed by Peso Pluma and Bad Bunny with six awards each, and Fuerza Regida with four wins. During the night, hosted by international superstars Carmen Villalobos and Danilo Carrera, more than 30 artists took the stage to present the awards and deliver 10 electrifying performances, including the debut of hit songs “Tu Name” and “Nel” by Californian group Fuerza Regida; the television premiere of Mexican sensation Xavi’s hit “La Diabla;” and a medley by Mexican icon Pepe Aguilar of his greatest hits, including “Por Mujeres Como Tu,” “Prometiste,” “Recuerdame Bonito,” and his new song “Cuidamela Bien,” among others. Some of the most memorable moments of the evening were the special awards presented, including the Billboard Hall of Fame Award to Pepe Aguilar, the Billboard Lifetime Achievement Award to Alejandro Sanz, and the Billboard Spirit of Hope Award to J Balvin who received the recognition from the hands of his great friend Maluma.
