Telemundo’s Decisión 2026 News And Civic Engagement Initiative Kicks Off Ahead Of The Midterm Elections

Month-long Initiative Provides Latinos With Extensive News Coverage, Information and Voter Resources

MIAMI – October 8, 2026 – With Latino voters expected to play a significant role in key races in this year’s midterm elections, Telemundo is rolling out its nonpartisan Decisión 2026 election-year initiative to provide election news, information and voter resources for Latino audiences across its broadcast, streaming, digital and social media platforms.

Decisión 2026 features extensive multiplatform election and campaign coverage  including candidate debates, national and state Latino voter polls, voter registration initiatives and community engagement efforts designed to inform audiences about issues and candidates ahead of Election Day.

The initiative reflects the growing importance of Latino voters in national, state and local elections. Approximately 36 million Latinos are expected to be eligible to vote in this year’s midterm elections.

Decisión 2026 Initiatives Include:

Special Election Coverage

Led by Noticias Telemundo journalists and Telemundo local news teams, coverage includes reporting from the campaign trail, candidate interviews and regular segments featuring Latino voter perspectives. Election coverage is available on Noticias Telemundo AHORA, the network’s 24/7 streaming news service, as well as across Telemundo’s digital and social media platforms.

Noticias Telemundo is also producing election-related content tailored for social media audiences, including reporting, analysis and voter information distributed through its digital channels.

Telemundo Stations Multiplatform Local Coverage

Telemundo-owned stations will deliver comprehensive election coverage across broadcast, streaming and digital platforms, highlighting key federal, state and local races. Programming will include candidate interviews, debates, town halls, public affairs programming and voter-focused events, alongside polling insights into the issues, candidates and trends shaping the electorate. In select markets, Telemundo stations will also collaborate with NBC-owned stations to produce debates and special election programming in both Spanish and English.

Throughout the election cycle, Telemundo stations will provide ongoing race updates, voter resources and information on issues impacting local communities, ensuring audiences have access to timely, relevant reporting across platforms.

National and Local Polling

Telemundo and NBC News recently released a national poll examining Latino voter attitudes and priorities. In partnership with NBC-owned stations, Telemundo local stations have also released state-level polls in California, Texas and Florida focused on issues shaping the Latino electorate and voter preferences in those states.

Civic Engagement

Decisión 2026 brings together voter education, registration and community engagement efforts designed to provide Latino communities with information and resources throughout the election cycle.

#USATuVoz: As part of Telemundo’s award-winning corporate community impact initiative, El Poder en Ti, Telemundo unveiled “Tú Tienes El Poder. ¡Vota!,” a new PSA encouraging Latinos to participate in the democratic process through the hashtag #USATuVoz (“Use Your Voice”).

Voter Education Phone Banks: Throughout 2026, Telemundo has partnered with  national organizations on a series of monthly bilingual voter education phone banks, connecting audiences with live, nonpartisan information in English and Spanish about voter registration, voting options, key deadlines and the electoral process. The initiative is part of Telemundo’s ongoing commitment to providing Latino communities with trusted information and resources to help them participate in the democratic process.

Decisión 2026: Foro Comunitario: On Oct. 29th, Telemundo will convene Decisión 2026: Foro Comunitario in McAllen, Texas, bringing together community leaders and residents from the Rio Grande Valley for a national Spanish-language conversation focused on the issues important to Latino voters ahead of the midterm elections. The discussion will address voter engagement, community priorities, misinformation and disinformation, and the growing influence of artificial intelligence on the information voters encounter.

Live Journalism Events

Last month, Noticias Telemundo and Axios co-hosted the fifth annual Visionarios event in Los Angeles, featuring interviews with Latino leaders and newsmakers from the fields of public policy, entertainment and culture.

Noticias Telemundo will also participate in the upcoming Latino Media Summit at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism in New York City to discuss the role of Latino voters and the evolving media landscape during the 2026 election cycle.
