Telemundo Celebrates One Year of El Pelotazo, the #1 Late-Night Sports Show on Spanish-Language Television

Miami, FL – March 10, 2026 – Telemundo marks the first anniversary of El Pelotazo with a special edition of the dynamic late-night sports show that has redefined sports entertainment for Hispanic audiences. Since its premiere in March 2025, El Pelotazo has become the #1 late-night sports program on Spanish-language television, averaging 293,000 total viewers and outperforming Univision’s late-night sports programming by +45%.

In just one year, El Pelotazo has established itself as a must-watch destination for Hispanic sports fans, blending bold analysis, personality-driven debate and cultural conversation with the biggest headlines in soccer and beyond. The anniversary broadcast will feature special segments and appearances from across the Telemundo family and the sports world. Highlights include a Women’s Month segment led by Verónica Rodríguez and Adriana Monsalve alongside Al Rojo Vivo’s Jessica Carrillo, celebrating the growing influence of women in sports media. The show will also welcome Noticias Telemundo’s Julio Vaqueiro and Arantxa Loizaga and featurea dynamic crossover moment with En Casa con Telemundo’s Carlos Adyan joining Diego Arrioja, and a celebrity-focused segment hosted by Hoy Día’s Carlos Calderón exploring the intersection of sports and entertainment. Renowned Spanish soccer analyst Cristóbal Soria will make a surprise appearance, and fan-favorite segment “El Gran DT” will feature legendary sports commentator Luis Omar Tapia.

Originally launched with hosts Verónica Rodríguez, Diego Arrioja and Pablo Mariño, the show has continued to evolve, welcoming Adriana Monsalve and Alejandro Berry to the team and further elevating its dynamic format and on-screen chemistry.

Since its debut, El Pelotazo has delivered the top five telecasts among all Spanish-language late-night sports programs, including the edition following Telemundo’s coverage of Super Bowl LX.

Produced by Telemundo Deportes, El Pelotazo airs on Telemundo live seven nights a week at midnight ET/PT from Telemundo Center in Miami, delivering a fast-paced recap of the day’s biggest sports stories with a strong emphasis on soccer as Telemundo builds momentum toward its coverage of the FIFA World Cup 2026TM.
