MIAMI, FL – January 23, 2025 – Telemundo unveiled the exceptional cast leading its highly anticipated production, “Velvet” (working title), a contemporary adaptation of the global hit series set to premiere in 2025. Making his debut on Telemundo, the internationally acclaimed Yon González (“Memento Mori,” “Chicas del Cable”) will star alongside the talented Samantha Siqueiros (“Casa de Papel: Berlin,” “Señora Acero”). Together, they will deliver a captivating blend of drama, romance and glamour to this epic story that will be filmed at Telemundo Center’s state-of-the-art facilities in Miami, Florida.
Telemundo Studios’ “Velvet” will find its ideal setting in New York, where fashion takes center stage. With New York’s vibrant glamour and splendor, the city is the ultimate backdrop to bring this captivating story to life. The adaptation to the present era will revive this classic tale into a contemporary drama series, filled with unforgettable characters and plots that define great love stories.

González, celebrated for his captivating performances in both television and film, has garnered widespread acclaim for his roles in the hit series “Memento Mori,” “Cable Girls” (“Las Chicas del Cable”), and “Grand Hotel” (“Gran Hotel”). With his undeniable charm and magnetic screen presence, he steps into the role of Alberto Márquez, the enchanting and dashing protagonist destined to steal everyone’s heart in “Velvet.”
Opposite González, the talented Samantha Siqueiros, renowned for her roles in internationally acclaimed series like “Money Heist: Berlin” (“Casa de Papel: Berlin”) and “Señora Acero,” will portray Ana Velázquez. A resilient and inspiring figure, Ana is more than Alberto’s love interest. She is a woman who weaves more than fashion – she crafts the dreams that define her life.
Originally launched in 2014, the original “Velvet” spanned four seasons and received worldwide praise for its portrayal of the glamorous world of a 1950s Spanish fashion house. With themes of love, ambition, and family dynamics, the series earned international acclaim, becoming a timeless classic.
