Janelle Wang and Audrey Asistio to Anchor “NBC Bay Area at 3” With Meteorologist Vianey Arana Beginning Sept. 7
Expansion Increases NBC Bay Area’s Live Local News Programming to More Than Seven Hours Each Weekday
SAN JOSE, Calif. – Aug. 31, 2026 – NBC Bay Area / KNTV today announced an expansion of its weekday local news programming with the launch of “NBC Bay Area at 3,” a new hour-long newscast premiering Monday, Sept. 7.
Janelle Wang and Audrey Asistio will anchor the newscast, with Vianey Arana serving as meteorologist and reporter.
The addition increases NBC Bay Area’s weekday local news programming to more than seven hours each day, further expanding the station’s coverage of breaking news, weather and issues affecting communities across the Bay Area.

Wang is an Emmy Award-winning journalist and longtime member of the NBC Bay Area news team who brings extensive experience covering major local, national and international stories. Asistio is an Emmy Award-winning journalist who joined NBC Bay Area in 2021 and has covered some of the region’s biggest stories. Arana serves as a meteorologist and reporter, providing viewers with forecasts and context on the Bay Area’s unique microclimates while also reporting on climate and environmental issues as part of NBC Bay Area’s Climate in Crisis coverage.
The launch builds on NBC Bay Area’s weekday news programming, which includes “Hallie Jackson NOW” from 2 to 3 p.m., followed by “NBC Bay Area at 3” from 3 to 4 p.m.

4:30-5 p.m. – NBC Bay Area News at 4:30
5-6 p.m. – NBC Bay Area News at 5
6-6:30 p.m. – NBC Bay Area News at 6
7-7:30 p.m. – NBC Bay Area News Tonight
11-11:35 p.m. – NBC Bay Area News at 11
