July 11, 2023 — Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the #1 Sunday public affairs show in the key demo this past Sunday, July 9, according to data from Nielsen Market Research.
MTP also reached over a million views on digital platforms last week, with viewers consuming over 152,000 hours of content across channels.
#1 in the Key Demo this Past Sunday
This past Sunday, MTP averaged 359,000 viewers among viewers aged 25-54, topping the competition in the demo most valued by news advertisers. MTP bested ABC’s This Week by +41,000 (+13%). CBS’s Face the Nation was retitled.
Sunday’s broadcast featured an interview with 2024 presidential candidate Gov. Doug Burgum (R-N.D.) on location in Fargo, N.D. Gov. Phil Murphy (D-N.J.) also joined the program, which averaged 2.125 million total viewers.
An additional 105,000 total viewers and 29,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through a rebroadcast on NBC.
Continues to Build Online Viewership
An additional 260,000 viewers watched the Sunday broadcast on YouTube this past week, a 54% gain over the previous week’s viewers. Brand-wide, MTP saw 1.2 million video views and 152,000 hours viewed.
These numbers follow last week’s banner week for MTP, where it saw its best week on digital since March 2022 with 4.1 million video views and nearly 200,000 hours viewed across platforms.
#1 in the Nation’s Capital for 8 Years Straight
MTP once again topped the competition in the influential Washington, D.C. market, where it hasn’t lost a Sunday in total viewers in over eight years.
