Feb. 9, 2021 – Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board this past Sunday, Feb. 7, according to Nielsen Media Research.
#1 on Sunday, Tops Competition By Double Digits In The Key Demo
MTP averaged 3.875 million total viewers, topping ABC’s This Week by +211,000 and CBS’s Face the Nation by +51,000. Compared to last week, MTP was up by +39,000 total viewers and compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP was up +17 percent (+576,000).
MTP was also #1 in the demo most valued by news advertisers and topped both ABC and CBS by double digits. MTP averaged 895,000 A25-54 viewers, +15 percent (+120,000) more than ABC and +16 percent (+125,000) more than CBS. Compared to last week, MTP was up four percent (+32,000) and compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP was up +21 percent (+158,000).
Sunday’s broadcast featured interviews with Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.), and Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), Chair of the House Intelligence Committee.
An additional 788,000 total viewers and 140,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through rebroadcasts on NBC and MSNBC.
Reaches 4.6 Million Video Views Across Digital
MTP reached 4.6 million video views and 1 million hours watched across platforms, up +30 percent week over week.
This past Sunday’s full episode is currently at 826,000 views and is expected to grow over the next couple of days. And, the full episode that aired on Jan. 31 saw close to 2 million views on YouTube, up +15 percent vs. its 2020 average, and 1.5 million viewers, up +17 percent vs. last year’s average.
Almost Six Years as #1 Most Watched Sunday Show in Washington, D.C.
MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, more than doubling the competition across the board and winning every Sunday with total viewers in almost six years (since March 22, 2015).
