‘TODAY’ Is #1 in Key A25-54 Demo for 136 Straight Weeks

‘TODAY’ Narrows Total Viewer Gap Vs. GMA Year-Over-Year And Continues Season-to-Date Demo Winning Streak

NEW YORK – August 7, 2018 – NBC News’ TODAY was the number-one morning show last week, topping ABC’s “Good Morning America” across the key A25-54 and A18-49 demos.  For 136 straight weeks, TODAY has won A25-54, delivering its best streak in over six years.  Additionally, the morning show has led the A18-49 demo for 155 out of the last 156 weeks. TODAY has also narrowed the total viewer gap with GMA year-over-year.

Season-to-date, TODAY continues its reign at number one in the key A25-54 and A18-49 demos and year-over-year has improved in total viewers by 63% vs. GMA.

  • TODAY has now ranked #1 among A25-54 viewers for 136 consecutive weeks (best streak in six years) and 152 of the last 153 weeks
  • TODAY delivered a 0.98 A25-54 rating, +0.09 points ahead of GMA and +0.39 points more than CBS
  • TODAY posted its best A25-54 viewership and lead over GMA in three weeks
  • TODAY’s A25-54 lead over GMA nearly doubled week-over-week and also improved by 34% compared to the same week last season

TODAY averaged 810,000 A18-49 viewers, +72,000 (+10%) ahead of GMA and +275,000 (+51%) higher than CBS

  • TODAY has been #1 among A18-49 viewers in 155 of the last 156 weeks
  • TODAY delivered a 0.63 A18-49 rating, +0.06 points more than GMA and +0.21 points better than CBS
  • TODAY’s A18-49 advantage over GMA improved by 41% week-over-week

TODAY averaged 3.543 million total viewers, leading CBS This Morning by +620,000 (+21%)

  • Compared to the same week last season, TODAY’s total viewer gap over GMA narrowed by 10% while its advantage over CBS increased by 18%
