NEW YORK – April 25, 2016 — NBC News’ TODAY will mark 100 days until the start of the XXXI Olympic Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday, April 27.  Matt Lauer will talk exclusively with 22-time Olympic champion Michael Phelps who opens up about the struggles that sent him to rehab and his Olympic comeback in Rio. Additionally, Bob Costas, who will serve as NBC Olympics’ primetime host for the 11th time this summer, will join TODAY live from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Today will celebrate by transforming the TODAY plaza into a festive beach party featuring a live concert from “The Band Perry.”  The celebration will feature a parade of more than 40 Olympic athletes, including Gold Medal Gymnast Gabby Douglas, World Champion Gymnast Simone Biles, Olympic Gold Medalist and Track and Field Star Allyson Felix and Olympic Gold Medalist Swimmer Ryan Lochte, among others. Additionally, themed activities  including beach volleyball, samba dancing and Brazilian cooking, will be featured.
