August 12, 2026 — NBC News is #1 for the week of August 3, with TODAY, NBC Nightly News with Tom Llamas, Meet the Press with Kristen Welker and NBC News Daily topping broadcast news competition according to Nielsen Media Research.

TODAY is the #1 morning show across all key measures for the week, averaging 2.7 million total viewers and 592,000 A25-54 viewers. The broadcast extended its lead in key demo A25-54 to 140 consecutive weeks. Season-to-date, TODAY is the # 1 morning show across the board. 

NBC Nightly News with Tom Llamas is the #1 evening newscast for the week in the key demo, averaging 1.1 million A25-54 viewers and topping ABC’s World News Tonight, while delivering 6.6 million total viewers. Nightly News maintains its longest streak of year-over-year growth in A25-54 since May 1997. Season to-date, Nightly News also continues to deliver its closest key demo gaps vs. ABC in seven years. 

Meet the Press with Kristen Welker is the #1 Sunday public affairs show for A25-54 key demo viewers this past Sunday, August 9 with 376,000 A25-54 viewers and 2.4 million total viewers. Meet the Press continues to rank #1 season-to-date for the second consecutive season and has won 5 of the last 6 weeks when regularly titled. 

NBC News Daily also wins the week across the board, topping GMA3 and CNN and MS NOW’s 12-4 p.m. ET blocks with 1.6 million total viewers and 351,000 A25-54 viewers. NBC News Daily beat Fox News Channel as well in the key demos. NBC News Daily continues to be the #1 afternoon news program on all of TV in A25-54 & A18-49 in its 12P-4P daypart, season to-date.
