NBCUniversal News Group to Highlight Hispanic Heritage Month with Special Programming in September and October

September 16, 2024 — NBCUniversal News Group will spotlight Hispanic Heritage Month with special programming throughout September and October across NBC News, NBC News NOW, NBCNews.com, MSNBC, CNBC and NBCU Local.

Select highlights include:

  • NBC Latino, NBCNews.com’s dedicated Latino vertical, published its “Latino 10” list, celebrating 10 U.S. Latinos whose accomplishments have stood out in 2024. 
  • NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt will feature ballerina Evelyn Cisneros-Legate as well as The Blackwell School, America’s newest national park and only the second to be dedicated to modern Latino history.
  • TODAY will have actress Eva Longoria on to shine a light on Hispanic small businesses, among other segments and features across TODAY and TODAY.com.
  • NBC News NOW will cover Hispanic Heritage Month throughout its programming, including Tom Llamas’ reoccurring “The Americas” series on Top Story, which focuses on Latino issues in the U.S. and Latin American countries.
  • CNBC will feature coverage across the network, CNBC.comCNBC Make It, and CNBC en Español, including segments such as, “Tu Dinero Es Tu Futuro” focused on the biggest financial issues affecting the Hispanic community.
  • NBCUniversal Local stations, including NBC and Telemundo owned stations, will deliver Hispanic Heritage Month content across their television, streaming, and digital platforms. Highlights include themed vignettes, segments, and special programs, as well as live shows and features on Telemundo and NBC streaming news channels. Several stations will also host events and activations in their communities.
  • MSNBC and Telemundo will feature Paola Ramos’ reporting from the battleground state of Arizona on the critical nature of Latino voters and the country’s immigration battle.
  • Telemundo entertainment and news programming will highlight national Hispanic Heritage celebrations, and develop rich stories about Hispanic contributions, culture, and diversity. More on Telemundo’s programming plans can be found here
  • NBCU Academy will feature a module hosted by Telemundo Station Group President José Cancela titled Leadership Lessons with José Cancela. He shares his career journey, discusses the biggest challenge he’s faced as a leader, and emphasizes the importance of adopting a leadership mindset from day one.
