As a Prelude to the Traditional Event, ‘Pica y Se Extiende’ Kicks Off the Night at 10pm/9c with a Special Edition Live from Mexico City
MIAMI – September 11, 2024 – Telemundo joins the celebration of Mexico’s Independence with Viva Mexico, El Grito, a live special airing from Mexico City this Sunday, September 15 at 11:45pm/10:45c. From the iconic Zócalo located in the Mexican capital, Penélope Menchaca, Patty Navidad and Mauricio Islas will present a concert featuring musical performances by Natalia Jiménez, Yuri, Banda Recoditos, María José, with a special presentation by José Luis Rodríguez “El Puma” with Pancho Uresti. The broadcast will showcase the traditional speech by Mexico’s President, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, from the National Palace, as well as the ringing of bells honoring the fallen heroes of the Independence War.
As a prelude to the network special, Telemundo personalities, Lourdes Stephen and Carlos Adyan, will travel to Mexico City for a special edition of Pica y Se Extiende at 10pm/9c, which will feature interviews with music stars, and live broadcasts from Las Vegas with Alejandro Fernandez and Banda MS as special guests.
