Julio Vaqueiro to Anchor Broadcast Newscasts and News Shows on Streaming Channel Noticias Telemundo Ahora Live from Chicago

MIAMI – August 15, 2024 – Noticias Telemundo will deliver comprehensive coverage of the Democratic National Convention across platforms with live on-air programming on the broadcast network and expanded coverage on its news streaming channel, Noticias Telemundo Ahora.
With just over 80 days to Election Day, Noticias Telemundo’s team of anchors and correspondents will provide the latest news, analysis and on-the-ground reporting from Chicago:
- Julio Vaqueiro will anchor special editions of the Noticias Telemundo flagship newscast live from Chicago starting Monday.
- Senior Washington Correspondent Cristina Londoño, Washington Correspondent Javier Vega and National Correspondent Lourdes Hurtado will report from Chicago for all Noticias Telemundo platforms.
- Damià Bonmatí, anchor of the streaming channel Noticias Telemundo Ahora, will kick off daily coverage of the convention Monday through Friday beginning at 7:00 a.m. ET with updates throughout the day.
Spanish-language broadcasts of key speakers at the convention will stream each night on Noticias Telemundo Ahora, which is available on Peacock, Xumo, and Noticias Telemundo’s social and digital platforms including NoticiasTelemundo.com, the Noticias Telemundo app, YouTube, Facebook , X, Instagram and TikTok.
NoticiasTelemundo.com will feature a live blog with the latest developments from the convention floor and outside the United Center in Chicago. The live blog will include up-to-the-minute news and fact checks by T Verifica, Noticias Telemundo’s fact-checking platform. Viewers and readers can submit requests for fact checks through Noticias Telemundo’s WhatsApp tipline.
Noticias Telemundo’s coverage comes after the network’s leading ratings performance on linear and digital during the Republican National Convention. On the final night of the Republican convention in Milwaukee, Noticias Telemundo ranked as the #1 Spanish-language network in primetime. The coverage was the most-watched regardless of language on broadcast TV among Hispanics.
The network’s robust coverage will also include a special live programming event in Chicago on Tuesday. In partnership with Axios, Noticias Telemundo is co-hosting an event focused on the Latino vote at the Axios House on Tuesday featuring in-depth conversations with leading Latino voices on the potential impact of the Latino vote on this year’s election.
Reporters from Noticias Telemundo and Axios will conduct one-on-one interviews with key Democratic party leaders, including Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA) and Rep.
