MIAMI, FL – July 18, 2024 – Paris 2024: En Busca del Sueño Olímpico, an hour-long Olympic special presented by Telemundo, captures the most important Hispanic storylines ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Telemundo’s award-winning commentary team led by Olympic Hosts Miguel Gurwitz and Jessica Carrillo, will transport viewers to the iconic sites and venues across France, present the stories of Hispanic athletes to follow throughout the tournament, and introduce fans to “Lo Que No Sabías de Estos Juegos” (What You Didn’t Know About These Games). Paris 2024: En Busca del Sueño Olímpico will air on Saturday, July 20 at 5 p.m. ET on Telemundo and Universo simultaneously and stream on Peacock and Telemundo App.
Highlights:
- Mexican actor and producer Gael García Bernal sets the scene with “Momentos que Marcan”, an inspiring opening essay characteristic of Telemundo’s production of premier global events, celebrating the reasons Olympic athletes endure the struggle and dedication to give the world moments that matter.
- In honor of the network’s 20th anniversary of Olympic coverage, Jessi Losada looks back at the last two decades of Telemundo’s presentations of the Games. Losada has been an integral part of Telemundo’s Olympic coverage history, having performed as a main host of the network’s first coverage of the games 20 years ago.
- In-venue announce team members Andrés Cantor, Natalia Astrain and Manuel Sol provide a preview of soccer tournaments. Other previews: Basketball, Boxing, Gymnastics, Swimming and Track & Field.
- Athlete profiles highlight Mexican artistic gymnast Alexa Moreno, Colombian soccer star Linda Caicedo, Cuban wrestler Mijaín López, and Puerto Rican boxer Juan Manuel López Jr., among others.
- “Lo Que No Sabías de Estos Juegos” (What You Didn’t Know about These Games) introduces fans to the hot new Olympic sport – Breaking, as well as the official Olympic logo, mascot, and medals for Paris 2024, among other fun facts.
The original production will be executed by Telemundo Deportes from the network’s virtual studio – debuting Telemundo’s studio design for Paris 2024 coverage. Studio L is a fully green-screen, photorealistic studio powered by Prime VSAR and Unreal Engine. The studio will transport us into Trocadero Plaza in Paris, The City of Light, with views of the Eiffel Tower and serve as an inviting backdrop for viewers across the U.S.
