Telemundo Dominates Primetime as #1 Spanish-Language Network, Fueled by the Premiere of El Señor de los Cielos Season 9

Telemundo’s Hit Reality, La Casa de los Famosos, Continues Winning Streak as #1 Spanish-language Program in its Timeslot, Following Last Week’s Win as Most Watched Show in its Timeslot

MIAMI – February 14, 2024 – Telemundo’s much-anticipated premiere of the ninth season of El Señor de los Cielos positioned the network as #1 in Spanish-language primetime television on Tuesday night, with an average of 430,000 adults 18-49, 175,000 adults 18-34 and 1.3 million total viewersaccording to Nielsen.

The premiere episode of El Señor de los Cielos, Telemundo’s longest-running series, delivered an average of 481,000 adults 18-49 and 203,000 adults 18-34, positioning the action-packed production as the #1 Spanish-language program in primetime.  In addition, the show ranked #1, regardless of language, in its timeslot, among adults 18-34 and #2 among adults 18-49, behind CBS. 

Locally, in its timeslot, El Señor de los Cielos was also the #1 broadcast program, regardless of language, among adults 18-49, in New York, Miami, Chicago, San Francisco, Phoenix and Philadelphia; and #1 in Spanish-language television in Orlando, Denver, Tampa, Boston and Charlotte among adults 18-49.

According to Talkwalker, El Señor de los Cielos season 9 premiere ranked as the #1 drama series across all of TV based on total interactions and video views across Facebook, Instagram (interactions only), X, and YouTube.

Additionally, La Casa de los Famosos delivered an average of 413,000 adults 18-49, in its special 7-10pm timeslot on Tuesday. The hit reality competition continues to build audience, also positioning itself as the #1 show in its regular 7-9pm timeslot last week, delivering an average of 382,000 adults 18-49. On digital, the La Casa de los Famosos’ 24/7 livestream on LaCasadelosFamosos.com and the @TelemundoEntretenimiento YouTube Channel, has also seen tremendous growth in viewership during its third week on air, with a 58%increase in starts and more than 62% increase in hours viewed when compared to the first three weeks of last season.
