Exclusive Interviews with Chivas and América Stars on Futbol Estelar Chivas Extra | Chivas vs. América Live from Estadio Akron Simulcast on Telemundo, Universo and Peacock

MIAMI, Fla. – March 12, 2024 – Telemundo, the home of Chivas de Guadalajara in the U.S., presents El Clásico De México featuring Liga MX rivals Chivas and América on Saturday, March 16 with a pregame show at 10 p.m. ET followed by the match at 10:30 p.m. ET airing simultaneously across Telemundo, Universo and Peacock with English-language coverage available on SiriusXM. 

Formerly known as El Súper Clásico, El Clásico de México highlights two of Liga MX’s most popular teams and biggest rivals with passionate fanbases across Mexico and the United States. This year, Fernando Gago’s Chivas enter the pitch with a fully Mexican squad while André Jardine’s América compete with a squad relying on its foreign players. The encounter will be the third and final matchup between the two teams within a 10-day period, and arguably the most meaningful for the supporters of Chivas and America. 

Telemundo Deportes commentary team will lead the coverage with Emmy-award winning sports journalist Miguel Gurwitz and Zona Mixta host Veronica Rodriguez serving as hosts, accomplished Spanish-language commentator Jorge Calvo providing play-by-play while former Mexican National Team and Chivas player Manuel Sol provides in-depth analysis, and sideline reporters Rodrigo Camacho and Arantza Fernandez deliver pitch-side coverage. Former Mexican National Team and Chivas player Ramón Morales joins the commentary team as a special guest. 

Tune into Futbol Estelar Chivas Extra before and after the match for stories highlighting the culture of both teams and interviews with key players. Viewers can also find exclusive player interviews and game highlights on Telemundo’s leading late-night sports show Zona Mixta airing live from Guadalajara on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
