MIAMI – February 9, 2023 – President Joe Biden spoke with Noticias Telemundo anchor Julio Vaqueiro today in an exclusive, wide-ranging interview. Biden discussed the Chinese spy balloon, former President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and the 2024 presidential election, immigration and other issues.

Highlights of the interview will air today on “Noticias Telemundo” at 6:30 PM ET / 5:30 CT and will also be available on NoticiasTelemundo.com and the Noticias Telemundo properties on YouTubeFacebook and Twitter.

In response to a question whether the China spy balloon represented a major security breach, President Biden said: “It’s not a major breach. Look, the total amount of intelligence gathering that’s going on by every country around the world is overwhelming. I mean, it’s a violation of international law. It’s our airspace. And once it comes into our space, we can do what we want with it.”

When asked whether there would be a difference between facing former President Trump or Gov. DeSantis if he decides to run for reelection, Biden said:  “No, I don’t think so, because I think that they have a similar modus operandi, a similar way in which they work.”
