USMNT Host Korea Republic and Japan in Friendly Matches – Live on Telemundo, Universo and Peacock

MIAMI, Fla. – September 3, 2025 – Telemundo, the Spanish-language home of the U.S. National Teams and FIFA World Cup 26TM, presents an exciting doubleheader of U.S. Men’s National Team (USMNT) friendlies with World Cup qualified nations. The squad takes on Korea Republic and Japan in matchups airing Saturday, September 6, at 4:30 p.m. ET on Telemundo, Universo, and Peacock followed by the clash on Tuesday, September 9, at 7 p.m. ET on Universo and Peacock. 

These games mark the first USMNT appearances for forward Folarin Balogun under new head coach Mauricio Pochettino. The 24-year-old striker, currently with AS Monaco, returns after missing prior call-ups due to injury. Balogun has tallied five goals in 17 career appearances for the national team and is expected to play a key role in this World Cup cycle. 

The first match against Korea Republic will take place at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, N.J., home of the New York Red Bulls. Andrés Cantor and Diego Balado will lead the call, with Copán Álvarez reporting from the sidelines. 

The second match, USA vs. Japan, will be held at Lower.com Field in Columbus, Ohio nearly 25 years after the USMNT’s first historic appearance in the city. This special venue hosts the 15th-ranked Japanese national team, with Andrés Cantor and Natalia Astrain on commentary, and Copán Álvarez again on the sidelines.
