Eighteen Competitors Will Battle and Face-Off to Survive and Take Home the $200,000 Cash Prize
MIAMI – August 28, 2025 – Telemundo is set to unveil the highly anticipated return of La Isla: Desafío Extremo, Spanish-language television’s most intense reality competition, coming this October with a brand-new season that promises even more drama, adrenaline, and breathtaking landscapes. This new edition will introduce renowned Mexican actor and host Héctor Suárez Gomís, who will take viewers through a thrilling journey where strategy is just as crucial as physical strength. In a game of shifting alliances, the best ally could quickly become the worst enemy. Eighteen participants will face extreme challenges in the exotic jungles and coasts of the Caribbean, battling for survival and the ultimate cash prize of $200,000.
The soon-to-be-revealed cast will feature a dynamic mix of celebrities, reality stars, and everyday contestants, each ready to push the limits of their physical, emotional and mental endurance.
Born in Mexico City, Héctor Suárez Gomís is an actor, host, singer, and comedian with an extensive career in television, theater, and film. His charisma and versatility have made him a well-known figure in the Spanish-language entertainment world. In this new chapter of his artistic career, Gomis takes on the role of host of La Isla: Desafío Extremo, bringing his experience and energy to this thrilling competition. He has starred in multiple successful telenovelas, films, TV shows, and internationally acclaimed productions. On Telemundo, the multifaceted actor has shined in productions such as the first season of Top Chef VIP, as well as the primetime series 100 Días Para Enamorarnos, Betty en NY, and Zorro: La Espada y La Rosa, among others.
La Isla: Desafío Extremo is an adrenaline-filled adventure where contestants face physical and mental survival challenges in wild and remote beach and forest locations across the Caribbean.
Divided into teams, the 18 contestants battle week after week to survive in conditions ranging from total luxury to extreme hardship. Only the strongest will reach the final phase, where they will compete as individuals for the grand prize at stake.
