This New Competition Format Will Crown the First Ever Miss Universe® Latina Who Will Compete at the 74th Edition of Miss Universe® in Thailand
Celebrity Content Creator Sebastián Villalobos Joins as Backstage Host, Bringing All the Excitement as the Contestants Prepare to Step onto the Main Stage
MIAMI, May 27, 2025 – Telemundo kicks off a new era in reality competitions with the highly anticipated premiere of Miss Universe® Latina: El Reality, airing live on Tuesday, June 3 at 7pm/6c. The network also confirmed Sebastián Villalobos, one of the most influential young Latinos on social media, as the backstage host who will bring the audience all the exclusive insider action of the most ambitious Spanish-language television reality competition.
After participating in Telemundo’s reality show Los 50, where he showcased his charisma and competitive spirit, Villalobos returns to Telemundo to serve as backstage host in this innovative competition.From his exclusive, behind-the-scenes vantage point,he will capture all the last-minute excitement as the contestants prepare to step onto the main stage and runway. This Colombian social media star, who is also an actor and television host, rose to fame through his viral videos, making him a prominent figure in digital media across Latin America.
Selected through a rigorous casting process upholding the high standards of the Miss Universe® Organization, the contestants will take part in a unique, multi-platform format hosted by Jacqueline Bracamontes. These talented and charismatic Latinas will pursue a common dream: to be crowned the first-ever Miss Universe® Latina. The winner will become the first official delegate to represent the Latino community at the 74th edition of Miss Universe® this year in Thailand. In addition to beauty and charisma, the winner must stand out as an inspiring leader and role model, making an impact on a personal, professional, and philanthropic level.
But the road to the crown won’t be easy. Throughout the competition, participants will be divided into two teams: Team Emerald, led by Alicia Machado (Miss Universe 1996), and Team Ruby, guided by Zuleyka Rivera (Miss Universe 2006). Responsible for selecting their teams based on their own criteria, they will play a key role in their development by sharing valuable advice and motivation based on their own experiences in Miss Universe®.
Week after week, viewers will witness the drama, the coexistence and the behind-the-scenes moments during the contestants’ stay at the Mansion, along with the intense coaching and training sessions at the Miss Universe® Latina School. The judges panel, comprised of Aracely Arámbula, David Salomón, and Fabián Ríos, together with the audience vote, will determine who best meets the requirements to remain in the competition each week, leading up to the crowning of the first Miss Universe® Latina.
Miss Universe® Latina, El Reality will air live on Telemundo Monday to Friday and Sundays at 7pm/6c. It will also be available on the Telemundo app and stream the next day on Peacock. The reality competition will also air simultaneously on Telemundo Internacional for viewers across Spanish-speaking Latin America.
