MIAMI, FL – April 18, 2025 – Telemundo officially announced the premiere of Velvet El Nuevo Imperio, a modern reimagining of the beloved global phenomenon that captivated millions, set for Monday, May 19 at 9pm/8c, exclusively on Telemundo.

Led by the internationally acclaimed actors Yon González, Samantha Siqueiros, and Carolina Miranda, Velvet El Nuevo Imperiointroduces a bold new look at this timeless story centered on passion, romance, power, and endless glamour. Watch trailer here.

At the heart of the story is Alberto Márquez (González), heir to the Velvet fashion empire, who returns home to save the family business, but finds himself reigniting a romance with Ana Velázquez (Siqueiros), a brilliant young designer who dreams of redefining the industry on her own terms. Their romance sets off a chain of consequences, especially with the arrival of Cristina Otegui(Miranda), whose feelings for Alberto threaten to tear him and Ana apart.

The ensemble also features Chantal Andere, Danilo Carrera, Humberto Zurita, and Itatí Cantoral, along a stellar cast including Sofía Aragón, Jorge Aravena, Gaby Borges, Luciano D’Alessandro, Leonardo Daniel, Osvaldo de León, Bernardo Flores, Elizabeth Gutiérrez, Josh Gutiérrez, Candela Márquez, Aylin Mujica, Daniella Navarro, Camila Nuñez, Jeimy Osorio, Carlos Ponce, Sonya Smith and Sahit Sosa.

Originally launched in 2014, Velvet spanned four seasons and received worldwide praise for its portrayal of the glamorous world of a 1950s Spanish fashion house. The series explored themes of love, ambition, and family dynamics, garnering international acclaim, and making it a timeless classic.

Now, Telemundio’s Velvet will find its ideal setting in New York, where fashion takes center stage. With New York’s vibrant glamour and splendor, the city is the ultimate backdrop to bring this captivating story to life. The adaptation to the present era will revive this classic tale into a contemporary drama series, filled with unforgettable characters and plots that define great love stories.

A Telemundo Studios production, Velvet El Nuevo Imperio is an adaptation by Sandra Velasco, directed by Danny Gavidia, Miguel Varoni and Ricardo Schwarz, with Minú Chacin as general producer and Elizabeth Suárez as executive producer. Filming is currently underway at Telemundo Center’s state-of-the-art facilities in Miami, Florida.

Velvet is an original format created by Ramon Campos and Gema R. Neira, produced by Bambú Producciones for Atresmedia Televisión and distributed internationally by Beta Film GmbH.
