MIAMI, Fla. – March 26, 2025 – Telemundo proudly celebrated the 25th anniversary of the legendary soccer commentator Andrés Cantor with a special on-air tribute during its live coverage of the FIFA World Cup qualifier between Argentina and Brazil yesterday March 25. This April 1 officially marks Cantor’s 25th year with Telemundo, a milestone that recognizes his unparalleled contributions to sports broadcasting.
Widely regarded as one of the most influential voices in soccer, Cantor has shaped the way millions of fans experience the game across the U.S. and Latin America. His unmistakable voice, passionate storytelling, and iconic “GOOOOL!” call have made him a household name, earning him eight Emmy Awards and a place in the National Soccer Hall of Fame.

He has played a major role in the network’s Olympic Games coverage and made history as lead commentator and anchor for Telemundo’s exclusive Spanish-language coverage of FIFA, particularly after his iconic goal call of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM final.
