Telemundo and Universo to Broadcast “Premios Platino” on April 27, 2025

Miami, March 6, 2025 – Telemundo and Universo announced an exclusive agreement under which they will be the official broadcasters for the 12th edition of the prestigious Premios PLATINO, the international awards for Spanish and Portuguese-language cinema and series, which will take place on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from Madrid. The nominations for this upcoming edition will be announced on Friday, March 14, 2025.

Coverage on Telemundo and Universo will include the exclusive broadcast of Premios PLATINO in the United States, as well as exclusive content, interviews with nominees, and the artists’ arrival on the red carpet. More details will be announced soon.

After eleven editions, Premios PLATINO has established itself as the highest recognition for Ibero-American cinema and series, awarding the best in audiovisual production from 23 countries, with a total of 8,943 productions participating in the film categories and 679 series in the series categories. Since launching in 2014, these awards have cemented their international prestige, recognizing productions from the following Ibero-American countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Spain, Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Uruguay, and Venezuela. They have also honored the careers of outstanding talent in the industry such as Antonio Banderas, Adriana Barraza, Benicio del Toro, Carmen Maura, Cecilia Roth, Diego Luna, Edward James Olmos, Raphael, Ricardo Darín, and Sonia Braga.
