MIAMI, FLA. – December 5, 2024 – Telemundo announces its presentation of the Kansas City Chiefs’ two-part docuseries “Viva Chiefs Kingdom” set to make its U.S. television debut on Universo at 7 p.m. ET on Sunday, Dec. 8. Following the premiere, the Chiefs meet the Los Angeles Chargers for Week 14 of Sunday Night Football at 8 p.m. ET.
The docuseries chronicles the stories of 12 passionate fans throughout the 2023 NFL season, highlighting the ever-growing love for the Kansas City Chiefs in Mexico. It explores the deep bond between the team and its Mexican fanbase, from the early challenges of finding Chiefs merchandise to the triumph and celebration of their team’s victory in Super Bowl LVIII. “Viva Chiefs Kingdom” takes viewers on a journey through five cities—Chihuahua, Monterrey, Torreón, Puebla, and Mexico City—showcasing how the Chiefs’ spirit resonates across Mexico.
“Viva Chiefs Kingdom” marks the club’s first all-Spanish language long-form content and is the first long-form international “fans first” content focusing on the passion and fandom of Chiefs Kingdom globally. This partnership reinforces the Kansas City Chiefs’ ongoing efforts to grow the Chiefs brand and both parties’ commitment to growing the game of football internationally.
When the Chiefs and Chargers face off after the docuseries premiere, Emmy-winning sports anchor Miguel Gurwitz narrates the game with expert analysis from former Arizona Cardinals offensive lineman Rolando Cantú and the help of sideline reporter Ariana Figuera in covering all the action.
