Telemundo Studios Begins Production of its New Super Series©, La Jefa, with a Star-Studded Cast Led by Fabiola Guajardo and Iván Arana

MIAMI – October 24, 2024 – Telemundo unveiled the official cast of its latest Super Series©, La Jefa (formerly Perseguida), starring Fabiola Guajardo (Buscando a Frida) and Iván Arana (El Señor de los Cielos), with a special participation by Cristián de la Fuente. La Jefa will be the first leading role for Guajardo and Arana with Telemundo. 

The new Super Series©, which kicked-off production this month in Mexico, also stars Mauricio Henao, Andrés Almeida, Azela Robinson, Verónica Merchant, José María Galeano, Jorge Luis Moreno, Yany Prado, among others. The ensemble cast is completed by renowned actors Pepe Gámez, Julieta Grajales, Sara Corrales, Uriel del Toro, Jesús Moré, Guillermo Quintanilla, Gary Centeno, Laura Vignatti, Sachi Tamashiro, and Dante Aguiar. 

Gloria Guzmán (portrayed by Fabiola Guajardo) has everything anyone could desire. A successful professional and mother, she is about to marry the father of her young son, FGE commander Juan José Cruz (portrayed by Cristián de la Fuente). But the celebration turns into tragedy when a group of hitmen burst into the wedding and kills Juan José. Gloria not only loses her great love, but her family also turns their back on her, the government seizes all her assets, the media points fingers at her, and her husband’s enemies pursue her to demand payment for dirty deals she was unaware of. Now penniless, Gloria must flee and begins an endless race that will force her to break into the underworld of money laundering to save her son. In her fight for survival, she will be mentored by top crime bosses whom she must win over by using her two most dangerous weapons: her beauty and her intelligence.

Produced by Telemundo Studios, this series was written by José Vicente Spataro and is directed by Mauricio Corredor, Mauricio Meneses, and Laura Marco. Juan Pablo Ambrís, David Fernández, and Alejandro Tellez are photography directors, with Juan Santiso as production designer. Mónica Vizzi from Telemundo is the executive producer of the series.
