Billboard and Telemundo Reveal the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Award Finalists

BILLBOARD AND TELEMUNDO REVEAL THE 2024 BILLBOARD LATIN MUSIC AWARDS FINALISTS

KAROL G, BAD BUNNY, PESO PLUMA, FEID, FUERZA REGIDA AND JUNIOR H AMONG TOP FINALISTS

Latin music’s most prestigious and longest running award show will broadcast on Telemundo on Sunday, October 20th at 9pm/8c from Miami, Florida

Miami, FL, September 12, 2024 – Today, Telemundo and Billboard announced the finalists for the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards. Colombian urban pop singer and songwriter Karol G tops the list with 17 entries, followed by internationally renowned star Bad Bunny and Mexican regional music singer and songwriter Peso Pluma, who are up for 15 awards each. In addition, Colombian singer and songwriter Feid follows with 11 entries, while California regional Mexican group Fuerza Regida and regional Mexican singer and songwriter Junior H are botheight-time finalists.

Latin music’s most prestigious and longest running award show will broadcast on Telemundo on Sunday, October 20th at 9pm/8c from Miami, Florida. The show, produced by Telemundo and American Country Broadcast Inc., may also be watched simultaneously on the Telemundo App, Peacock, and throughout Latin America and the Caribbean on Telemundo Internacional.

This year’s awards will be presented in 49 categories spanning major Latin music genres, from Latin Pop to Tropical, and Latin Rhythm to Regional Mexican.

Colombian star Karol G dominated this year’s list of finalists with 17 entries, after achieving 15 in 2022 and 13 in 2023. This year, the singer also known as “la Bichota,” competes for Artist of the Year, Tour of the Year, Global 200 Latin Artist of the Year, and Top Latin Album of the Year for Mañana Será Bonito, among others. Her song “Qlona” with Mexican artist Peso Pluma, competes for six awards, including Hot Latin Song of the Year, Global 200 Latin Song of the Year and Sales Song of the Year; while her hitMi Ex Tenía Razón, garnered two entries for Latin Air Play Song of the Year and Sales Song of the Year.

World renowned artist, Bad Bunny,is up for 15 awards, including Artist of the Year, Global 200 Artist of the Year and Tour of the Year. His song “Perro Negro” with Feid,earned five entries, including Global 200 Latin Song of the Year, Hot Latin Song of the Year, Hot Latin Song of the Year, Vocal Event, Latin Airplay Song of the Year, and Streaming Song of the Year. His album, Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va A Pasar Mañana, also competes for Top Latin Album of the Year and Latin Rhythm Album of the Year.

Peso Pluma, one of the biggest names in today’s music scene, is also up for 15 awards, including Artist of the Year, Global 200 Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year and Regional Mexican Album of the Year for Éxodo. His hit “Lady Gagawith Gabito Ballesteros and Junior H, is up for two awards: Hot Latin Song of the Year, Vocal Event, and Streaming Song of the Year. This is in addition to the six entries he garnered with Karol G for “Qlona.”

International reggaeton artist Feid boasts 11 entries. In addition to the five he achieved for “Perro Negro” with Bad Bunny, he’s also a finalist for Global 200 Latin Artist of the Year and Latin Rhythm Album of the Year for Ferxxocalipsis.

Mexican regional group Fuerza Regida is up for eight awards, including Artist of the Year and Hot Latin Song of the Year, Vocal Event for “Harley Quinn” with Marshmello. Their album Pa Las Baby’s y Belikeada, competes for Top Latin Album of the Year and Regional Mexican Album of the Year. Mexican artist Junior H also garnered eight entries, including Artist of the Year, Top Latin Album of the Year and Regional Mexican Album of the Year for his album $adBoyz For Life II, as well as the two he earned for “Lady Gaga” with Peso Pluma.

Other artists with multiple mentions include Xavi (7), Grupo Frontera and Myke Towers (5), Aventura, Gabito Ballesteros, Kali Uchis, and Shakira (4), Cris Mj, Eslabon Armado, FloyyMenor, Julión Álvarez y su Norteño Banda, Marc Anthony, Prince Royce, Rauw Alejandro and Young Miko (3), ATL Jacob, Edgar “Edge” Barrera, Grupo Firme, JOP, Luis Figueroa, Maná, Marshmello, Natanael Cano, Piso 21,  Reik, Venesti and Wisin (2).

Finalists, and the eventual winners, reflect the performance of new recordings on Billboard’s albums and songs charts for the period covering rankings dated August 19, 2023, through the September 7, 2024, charts. Determinations are based on key fan interactions with music, including album and digital song sales, streaming, radio airplay and touring, tracked by Billboard and its data partner, Luminate.
