TELEMUNDO REVEALS THE REMAINING INTREPID CONTESTANTS WILLING TO RISK EVERYTHING IN THEIR QUEST FOR THE $200,000 GRAND PRIZE ON LA ISLA: DESAFÍO EXTREMO STARTING TUESDAY, JULY 30 AT 7PM/6C
MIAMI, July 10, 2024 – Telemundo completes the roster of 24 intrepid participants who will disembark on La Isla: Desafío Extremo in search of the coveted $200,000 grand prize. Natalia Alcocer, Chuy Almada, Sebastián Caicedo, Julia Gama, Valeria Guajardo, Samira Jalil, Aylín Mújica, Alba Prado, Adolfo Rodriguez, Alejandro Salgado and José Sedek join a group of diverse personalities who will start from scratch, isolated from their outside world, battling in one of the most demanding competitions on the planet and where drama, alliances and betrayals will be the norm.
The following celebrities will join the previously announced participants: Gisella Aboumrad, Carmen Aub, Carlos Caquias, Guty Carrera, Angélica Celaya, Adrián Di Monte, Cristina Eustace, Regina Fernández, Tony Garza, Julián Gil, Awilda Herrera, Sergio Mayer, and Hubert Riascos.
- Natalia Alcocer is a Mexican TV presenter and actress who has won the public’s affection with her charisma. Alcocer has starred in reality shows, including Survivor Mexico, where she earned the nickname “La Vikinga,” and on Telemundo’s La Casa de los Famosos.
- Chuy Almada, a Mexican boxer better known as “El Toro”, calls himself a fitness addict who shares his exercise routines on YouTube. An industrial and systems engineer, farmer, personal trainer and YouTuber, Almada has been selected to participate in Exatlón Estados Unidos several times, but has not yet achieved his personal goal of reaching the final.
- Sebastián Caicedo is a renowned Colombian actor and businessman most recognized for his roles in television series and films. Caicedo has appeared in Telemundo productions such as El Chema, El Señor de los Cielos, Sin Senos no Hay Paraíso, and Decisiones, among others. Most recently, he participated in the reality show, Los 50.
- Julia Gama is a Brazilian actress, model and beauty queen who was first runner-up in the Miss Universe 2020 pageant. Gama participated in the second season of La Casa de los Famosos and Los 50 and made her acting debut in the most recent season of El Señor de los Cielos.
- Valeria Guajardo, a fashion designer and television host, has represented Mexico in several beauty pageants. She considers herself hyperactive and likes to find and overcome new challenges.
- Samira Jalil, an Argentinian television presenter who describes herself as a direct, cold, and calculating woman with the spirit of a champion. She has been part of reality shows such as La Casa de los Famosos and Los 50, among many others.
- Aylín Mújica, a renowned Cuban actress and telenovela villain, she was a fan favorite during her participation in the third season of La Casa de los Famosos. Her background in dance, particularly ballet, requires a high level of physical fitness and discipline, attributes that are essential for the physically demanding challenges in this new reality show.
- Alba Prado is a Colombian businesswoman and sports lover who has participated in reality shows before. Prado wants to inspire today’s youth through her participation in this challenging program.
- Adolfo Rodríguez, a Puerto Rican biologist, was the first in his family to attend college. He has a passion for travel and adventure, particularly in jungles and with wildlife. He takes pride in being born in Puerto Rico and has faced numerous challenges there, including hurricanes, earthquakes, and power outages.
- Alejandro Salgado is a Mexican model and passionate about sports, especially martial arts. Salgado likes to travel to exotic places and is always looking for a new adventure.
- José Sedek has a notable acting career, including his recurring role as Bernardo Castillo in multiple seasons of El Señor de los Cielos. In addition to his acting career, Sedek has worked in numerous stage productions and has also ventured into film directing. His ability to overcome challenges and persist in his goals makes him an ideal contestant for this reality show.
La Isla: Desafío Extremo will feature 24 participants who will form three teams, Los Águilas (Eagles), Los Tiburones (Sharks), and Las Panteras (Panthers). Each week, the teams will compete in a territory game that will determine their living conditions for that week, including Playa Alta with all the amenities, Playa Media with few amenities or Playa Baja without any amenities at all. Throughout the week, they will compete in numerous games to obtain salvation, team captainship, advantages, punishments, and adventures, in addition to weekly nominations, among others. Participants who are not up for nomination will vote to choose who will be eliminated from the competition each week.
