Julio Vaqueiro and Arantxa Loizaga to Anchor “Decision 2022” Election Night Coverage With a Team of Correspondents, Analysts and Political Commentators
Coverage to Feature Latest Polling and Election Results, Live Reports from Key States and Augmented Reality Graphics for Viewer Context and Analysis Special Election Night

MIAMI – November 3, 2022 – Noticias Telemundo will offer multi-platform “Decision 2022” coverage of the midterm elections on Tuesday, Nov. 8 with a team of anchors, correspondents and analysts providing comprehensive reporting and analysis throughout the day.
Julio Vaqueiro and Arantxa Loizaga will anchor Noticias Telemundo’s live continuous election night coverage starting at 9 p.m. ET, joined by anchors Vanessa Hauc, Johana Suárez, Nacho Lozano and José Díaz-Balart.
A special edition of Telemundo’s morning show, hoyDía, anchored by Nacho Lozano, Nicole Suarez and Martin Berlanga will kick off the day’s on-air coverage which will feature the latest on-the-ground reporting from key states with Senior Washington Correspondent Cristina Londoño in Florida, correspondents Rogelio Mora-Tagle in Washington, Francisco Cuevas and Maria Paula Ochoa in Los Angeles, Francisco Fajardo in Las Vegas, Edgar Muñoz and Arlety González Chile in Texas and Karla Amezola in New York.
Noticias Telemundo’s digital news team will provide multimedia coverage on NoticiasTelemundo.com featuring a live blog, up-to-the-minute updates and results and online reporting as part of the network’s full coverage across broadcast, digital and streaming from the moment polls open to when races are called.
Leading up to Election Day, Noticias Telemundo is streaming a digital special hosted by Julio Vaqueiro exploring the demographics within the Latino electorate and the issues motivating voters. The two-part special, Los Votantes Latinos, or Latino Voters, is available on Noticias Telemundo’s YouTube channel. Special election coverage and other reporting is also being featured on Noticias Telemundo’s daily national newscasts.
To complement reporting and polling on Election Night, Noticias Telemundo will use state-of-the-art technology including augmented reality graphics and other innovative storytelling visuals to provide viewers with important context about the election results, the issues at stake and insight into the Latino vote. Washington correspondent Javier Vega will manage Noticias Telemundo’s Big Board, breaking down the latest results as the votes are counted.
In addition, more than 15 on-air analysts and commentators will provide in-depth analysis and reaction including Victoria DeFrancesco Soto, dean of the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service; Alfonso Aguilar, president of the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, a former Democratic congresswoman, and Adryana Aldeen, a Republican political analyst, Luis A. Miranda Jr, board chair of the Latino Victory Fund and Clarissa Martinez de Castro, vice president of the Latino voter initiative at UnidosUS, a civic engagement organization.
The special coverage will also feature fact checks by T Verifica, Noticias Telemundo’s fact-checking platform, with fact checks in Spanish on NoticiasTelemundo.com and on air. Viewers can also follow fact checks in Spanish and English through Noticias Telemundo’s chatbot on WhatsApp by adding the number +1 732 927 6246 and typing “Hola” or “Hello” in their first message.
A special social media set led by Damià Bonmatí will also show viewers the Election Day online conversations taking place across social media platforms.
To provide up-to-date exit polling and election night results, Noticias Telemundo will work in close collaboration with its sister network, NBC News. The NBC News Decision Desk provides real-time accurate election results as soon as they are made available by election officials.
