May 19, 2020 – As America approaches the one year anniversary of the killing of George Floyd, NBC News NOW and NBCBLK will stream another special with MSNBC’s Trymaine Lee – Can You Hear Us Now?: One Year Later, a candid discussion on being Black in America today, tomorrow at 8 p.m. ET on NBC News NOW.

The special will feature in-depth conversations with guests Carmen Best (former Chief of Police of the Seattle Police Department), Jelani Cobb (The New Yorker contributor), Sandy Darity (professor and director of the Samuel DuBois Cook Center on Social Equity at Duke University), Travon Free (award-winning director, comedian, actor and writer), Martin Luther King III (human and civil rights advocate and chairman of the Drum Major Institute), Rep. Mondaire Jones (US Representative, D-NY), Lee Merritt (civil rights activist and trial attorney), Yusef Salaam (police reform activist), Amanda Seales (comedian and actress) and Anna Devere Smith (playwright, actress and author).

As America continues to grapple with race relations and police reform, even one year following the murder of George Floyd, MSNBC correspondent and host of the MSNBC podcast, Into America, Trymaine Lee will lead discussions on the state of race relations in America, whether justice was served in the Chauvin trial and what federal and local efforts around the country are being made in police reform.

The special is the latest in the streaming service’s growing slate of original and special programming. Recent specials have included Elevate: Success in the She-cession, The Racism Virus, Pride & Protest, Planet 2020, Are You Better Off? and more.
