NEW YORK \u2013 Sept. 22, 2025<\/strong> \u2013<\/strong> NBCUniversal Local\u2019s Emmy Award-nominated series The Swift Effect<\/em> \u2013 which covers Taylor Swift\u2019s economic and brand power \u2013 will begin its second season with the debut of a new episode, A New Era<\/em>, on Oct. 2 on Peacock and the NBC-owned stations\u2019 free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels (10:30 p.m. & 11:30 p.m. ET) to coincide with the release of the Swift\u2019s new album, The Life of a Showgirl<\/em>. The new episode will encore on CNBC and NBC News Now on Oct. 4, and on NBC-owned stations beginning Oct. 5. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Swift Effect<\/em>, which premiered in November 2024, examines how the superstar performer has built her brand into an economic engine that has redefined the music business, generated billions of dollars in revenue, and influenced a range of fields, such as fashion, sports, education and philanthropy. The series also details the business acumen and deep fan connection that made Swift one of the world\u2019s most influential people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Produced by NBCU Local storyteller Cody Broadway with NBCU Local Vice President of Programming & Partnerships Diane Petzke serving as the executive producer, the original four-part season of The Swift Effect<\/em> was nominated for a 2025 Daytime Emmy Award in the Arts and Popular Culture Program category by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The 52nd Annual Daytime Emmys will be held Oct. 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new episode explores how the icon has redefined the balance of power between artist, audience and the press through the lens of influencers, podcasters, established media figures and other leading experts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
