The Spanish-language edition,&nbsp;<strong><em>Animales Tras El Desastre,&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong>will premiere on Telemundo-owned stations\u2019 free regional news streaming channels beginning May 3.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Animals in the Aftermath<\/em>, produced by NBCU Local documentary Executive Producer&nbsp;<strong>Cody Broadway<\/strong>,follows rescuers who ventured behind the fire lines, the overwhelmed shelters that accommodated hundreds of animals in need, and the emotional reunions between pets and owners. Also featured are some of the local and national organizations that led and supported animal rescue efforts during and after the wildfires, including:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Greater Good Charities<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Greater Good Charities mobilized within hours of the first major evacuation to help people and animals. They airlifted pets from shelters to make critical space, provided food, essential supplies, and veterinary support.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Horse Rescue<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 We follow two women who do the unthinkable and risked it all to save dozens of horses from the encroaching flames.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>CatCafe<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Lounge <\/strong>\u2013 When the flames rose, the Cat Caf\u00e9 opened its doors to for first responders and fire survivors to be a safe haven and offer a space of peace and healing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pasadena Humane<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Pasadena Humane became the central hub for the crisis, and a lifeline for lost pets and families, organizing rescue operation intakes and emergency care around the clock.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe animals and the individuals who risked their lives to save them are the heart of this special,\u201d said Broadway. \u201cThis is our way to honor the incredible dedication by members of the community to take matters into their hands for the sake of the innocent pets and animals and be the lifeline they so desperately needed.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through&nbsp;<em>Clear The Shelters<\/em>, NBC and Telemundo stations across the nation partner with more than 1,500 animal shelters and rescues to promote pet adoption and fundraising. More than 80 shelters in the Los Angeles area participated in the 2024 campaign, which set a single-year record with nearly 170,000 adoptions nationally. Since its 2015 inception,&nbsp;<em>Clear The Shelters<\/em>, has helped nearly 1.2 million pets find new homes and has raised more than $5 million for shelters and rescues.
