By the end of the 4.5-hour live telecast, donations and pledges totaled $4,192,175, a figure that continues to grow as the organization receives donations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The telethon was hosted by Telemundo 51\u2019s Daisy Ballmaj\u00f3, host of&nbsp;<em>Conectados con Daisy<\/em>, Telemundo 51 news anchors and reporters Fausto Malav\u00e9, Alejandra Molina, Marilys Llanos, Mariana Rodriguez and Alejandro Isturiz and was dedicated to the Queen of Salsa, Celia Cruz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI am always proud of the work my team does for the&nbsp;<em>Liga Contra el C\u00e1ncer<\/em>&nbsp;telethon, but this year I felt even prouder because it was the 25<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;consecutive year our station has produced the telethon and of our commitment to&nbsp;<em>la Liga<\/em>\u201d, said Jorge Carballo, President and General Manager of Telemundo 51 and NBC6. \u201cThe fact that this telethon was dedicated to the Queen of Salsa Celia Cruz, who was a huge supporter of&nbsp;<em>la Liga<\/em>&nbsp;and who sadly died of cancer herself, made it all the more special.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, the live broadcast of the&nbsp;<em>Liga Contra el C\u00e1ncer telethon&nbsp;<\/em>ranked No. 1 in the market for non-sports programming, regardless of language, among A18-49 and A25-54.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The telethon had the support of dozens of volunteers and celebrities, along with Telemundo 51\/WSCV news anchors Gloria Ordaz and Lisset Mari. There were also musical performances by Amaury Guti\u00e9rrez, Aym\u00e9e Nuviola, Celia Cruz All Stars, Diago, DJ Yus, Gente de Zona, Jon Secada, Lena, Leslie Cartaya, Malena Burke, Oscar D\u2019Le\u00f3n, Rob Su\u00e1rez, and Willy Chirino.
