Chicago, IL (January 7, 2026) – NBC 5 Chicago (WMAQ‑TV) today announced veteran multimedia award-winning journalist and newsroom leader Vince Lattanzio will join the station as News Director beginning Monday, January 12. The announcement was made by Sally Ramirez, Senior Vice President of News, NBC 5 Chicago / Telemundo Chicago.

In his new role, Lattanzio will oversee NBC 5 Chicago’s day-to-day newsroom operations including the station’s primary franchises (NBC 5 Investigates, NBC 5 Responds and Decision 2026). He will also work closely with the station’s digital team on cross‑platform news integration initiatives and collaborate closely with Telemundo Chicago (WSNS-TV) leadership to maximize duopoly coverage and editorial impact across both stations.

“Vince has distinguished himself as one of our industry’s most respected multimedia leaders, backed by a proven record of success and national recognition,” said Ramirez. “His leadership, strategic vision, and energy will be a tremendous asset to the NBC 5 Chicago newsroom team.”

Lattanzio, who joins NBC 5 Chicago with nearly two decades of experience in multimedia content creation, on‑air journalism, and newsroom leadership, most recently served as Director of Digital Media for NBC4 Washington (WRC‑TV) and Telemundo 44 Washington (WZDC‑TV) from 2021–2025, overseeing strategic content development and execution across more than 15 multimedia platforms, including linear television, streaming (FAST and OTT), news apps, social media, and station websites.

Lattanzio was also the first multiplatform journalist in the NBCU Local’s coast‑to‑coast group for both linear and digital platforms on a daily basis.

From an industry honors standpoint, Lattanzio’s work has been recognized by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS), the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTFDA) and the Associated Press (AP) among others.
