Hit Family Sitcom Joins Weeknight Comedy Lineup After Labor Day Lauch Marathon

NEW YORK – Aug. 27, 2025 – COZI TV, NBCUniversal Local’s national multicast network that delivers TV’s all-time best shows and pop culture favorites, has acquired the digital broadcast rights for the celebrated 120-episode Emmy Award-winning family sitcom comedy series George Lopez, produced by Warner Bros. Television.
George Lopez will debut on COZI TV with a special 16-hour Labor Day marathon on Sept. 1 from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. ET, beginning with the first episode of six-season series. Starting Sept. 2, the acclaimed show joins COZI TV’s comedy lineup – which already features popular hits like The King of Queens, Frasier and Married… With Children –from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. ET, as well as afternoons from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. ET.

Starring comedian George Lopez as a devoted father and plant manager navigating work and family, George Lopez delivers heartwarming and humorous stories with a Latino perspective. Premiering in 2002, the show became a cultural touchstone, resonating with audiences across generations and earning a devoted following. The show earned 31 award nominations, winning 10, including a Primetime Emmy Award.
Created by Lopez, Bruce Helford and Robert Borden, the series, which is loosely based on Lopez’s own life and experiences growing up in Los Angeles, features an ensemble cast that includes stars Constance Marie, Masiela Lusha, Luis Armand Garcia, Valente Rodriguez and Belita Moreno. Sandra Bullock, who served as an Executive Producer on the series, also made guest appearances as “Accident Amy.” George Lopez is a production of Warner Bros. Television.
