MCALLEN, Texas – (Aug. 5, 2024) – Telemundo 40 Rio Grande Valley / KTLM, part of NBCUniversal Local’s Telemundo Station Group, announced Alejandro Sanchez has been named multimedia journalist for Noticias Telemundo 40. Sanchez will debut today.
Sanchez, who has been recognized with National Association of Hispanic Journalists and Florida Society of News Editors Awards, joins KTLM after working independently as a reporter in Miami, Uruguay, Panama, and Mexico.
“Alejandro’s international background and deep understanding of the political issues affecting the Latino community will enrich our coverage and help us better inform our local audiences,” said Iris Rodriguez, News Director for Telemundo 40. “We are very excited to have Alejandro join our award-winning team.”
Sanchez has also worked as a researcher for the International Organization for Migration (IOM), among other humanitarian organizations in Colombia. He earned a bachelor’s degree in international studies and a master’s in political science.
Noticias Telemundo 40 is presented weekdays at 11 a.m., 4 p.m., 4:30 p.m. 5 p.m., and 10 p.m., and on weekends at 5 p.m. and 10 p.m.
