Norma Ribeiro Named Anchor for the 5 & 6 p.m. Editions of ‘Noticiero Telemundo 49’
Samantha Diaz Roberts Promoted to Anchor for 5 p.m. Newscast
TAMPA, Fla. – (July 22, 2024) – Telemundo 49 Tampa / WRDM and Telemundo Fort Myers-Naples / WWDT, part of NBCUniversal Local’s Telemundo Station Group, today announced Norma Ribeirohas been appointed anchor for the 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. editions of Noticiero Telemundo 49, and Samantha Diaz Roberts has been promoted to anchor for the 5 p.m. newscast. Ribeiro and Diaz Roberts will debut in their new roles in mid-August.
Ribeiro has more than two decades of experience with various media outlets in both the United States and Latin America. She joins WRDM and WWDT from Telemundo Station Group’s Telemundo 52 Los Angeles / KVEA, where she served as a news reporter since 2017. Prior to KVEA, Ribeiro worked at Univision and Venevision. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from the Andrés Bello Catholic University in Caracas, Venezuela.

Diaz Roberts, an award-winning journalist with more than a decade of experience, most recently served as a multimedia journalist for Telemundo 49 and Telemundo Noticias Florida, the regional streaming news channel. Previously, she spent time with Telemundo Las Vegas after starting her career at El Nuevo Dia in her native Puerto Rico. Diaz Roberts graduated from the University of Puerto Rico and earned master’s degree from Complutense University of Madrid.

Noticiero Telemundo 49 is presented on Telemundo 49 Tampa and Telemundo Fort Myers-Naples weekdays at 5, 5:30, 6 and 11 p.m., Saturdays at 6 and 11 p.m. and Sundays at 6 p.m.
