NEW YORK – Jan. 26, 2026 – NBCUniversal Local’s LXTV Productions today announced The Effect: Bad Bunny, an original half-hour documentary special debuts this week to explore the rise to stardom and global influence Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Bad Bunny has across music, entertainment and culture.
The Effect: Bad Bunny debuts on Telemundo-owned stations this Friday, Jan. 30, at 11:30 a.m. ET / 10:30 a.m. CT, and will be available the same day on Peacock. The show will air on NBC stations following Saturday Night Live on Jan. 31, and will encore on the NBC- and Telemundo-owned stations’ streaming channels.
The Effect: Bad Bunny takes viewers through the evolution of an artist who has transformed the landscape of Latin music and reshaped global pop culture. Rooted in his Puerto Rican upbringing, the documentary captures the essence of his groundbreaking sound and the record-setting residency that honors the island that molded his identity, offering an intimate look at the authenticity driving his artistry and influence.
The special offers a broad portrait of the cultural and economic imprint Bad Bunny has made on Puerto Rico and the global reach his artistry continues to command. Through moments that highlight his mass appeal, critical acclaim, and recognition as a Billboard Top Artist of the Year, the documentary underscores the depth and breadth of his impact that led to his selection as the halftime performer at Super Bowl LX.
