Izamar Salinas Promoted to Multimedia Journalist
LAS VEGAS – Jan. 7, 2026 – Telemundo Las Vegas / KBLR, part of NBCUniversal Local’s Telemundo Station Group, announced Daniel Ramírez has been named sports anchor and Izamar Salinas has been promoted to multimedia journalist, effective Monday, Jan. 5.
Ramírez joined Telemundo Las Vegas as a multimedia journalist in 2024 and has since played an integral role in KLBR’s sports coverage. Salinas has served as a content producer and digital reporter contributing to multiplatform storytelling for Telemundo Las Vegas since October 2025.
Prior to joining KBLR, Ramírez spent two years as a multimedia journalist for Telemundo 33 Sacramento and Telemundo 51 Fresno’s Noticiero Telemundo California. He previously worked as a multimedia reporter and producer at KDRV NewsWatch 12 ABC in Medford, Ore.
“Daniel has consistently demonstrated passion, versatility, and a strong commitment to covering the sports, teams and events that are significant to the Las Vegas community,” said Johali Carmona, News Director for Telemundo Las Vegas. “We look forward to his continued contributions to our newscasts and other platforms as he takes on this expanded role.”
A Los Angeles native, Ramírez began his journalism career after graduating from California State University, Northridge, where he specialized in Spanish-language journalism.
Prior to joining KBLR, Salinas worked as a multimedia journalist for NoticiasYa 48 in McAllen, Texas. She has reported on major events affecting the state and the nation, including the border, historic flooding in Texas in March 2025, as well as during the Los Angeles wildfires.
“Izamar brings a thoughtful approach to journalism and a deep understanding of the issues that matter most to our audiences,” Carmona added. “Her reporting experience, combined with her digital expertise and strong news judgment, will continue to strengthen our newsroom.”
She earned a bachelor’s degree in English and Film from Texas A&M University in 2023 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in writing.
