NEW YORK (Jan. 29, 2025) – NBCUniversal Local has announced Poochie & Pang Eat, a new culinary-comedy series will be presented on NBC-owned stations following Saturday Night Live this February, beginning this Saturday, Feb. 1.
From the creators of NBC 5 Chicago’s Emmy- and GLAAD Media Award-nominated It’s OK to Ask Questions, the three-part Poochie & Pang Eat stars the unique and colorful hosting duo of“Poochie,” from the iconic Chicago hot dog stand The Wiener’s Circle, and food writer and best-selling author Kevin Pang.
The hosts of the half-hour program take viewers on a wild culinary ride to explore the ‘unknowns’ of Chicago’s food scene; deliver humorous banter and conversations with restaurant owners, staff and patrons; comedic sketches, sights and sounds of their destinations; and of course, a close-up look at some great food.

Poochie & Pang Eat is executive produced by Knutson and Pang. NBCU Local Chicago’s Senior Producer of Multi-Platform Content Matt Buckman is the show’s senior producer and NBCU Local Chicago Multi-Platform Producer Hannah Lindvall and Poochie serve as producers.
Episodes 2 and 3 of Poochie & Pang Eat will air Feb. 8 and 15 on NBC-owned stations, which serve 11 U.S. markets, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Boston, San Francisco, Miami, San Diego and Hartford, Conn.

For 27 years, Poochie has been the lovable face of the iconic Chicago hot dog stand The Wiener’s Circle. Customers travel from far and wide to experience Poochie and Co.’s singular customer service — profane, offensive, and hilarious.
Poochie is also a viral internet sensation: Her appearance on Conan O’Brien with Triumph the Insult Comic Dog has over 15 million views. Poochie starred in a truTV reality series filmed at The Wiener’s Circle and has guest-starred on the CBS sitcom The Great Indoors with Joel McHale. She also voiced the part of Medina in the Comedy Central animated series, Legends of Chamberlain Heights.
KEVIN PANG
Kevin Pang is a longtime Chicago food writer who wrote the Amazon #1 Bestseller A Very Chinese Cookbook and is currently a contributing writer for The New York Times.
While on staff at the Chicago Tribune in 2009, Kevin created and starred in The Cheeseburger Show (alongside Poochie & Pang executive producer Matt Knutson), a TV / web series that went on to win a coveted James Beard Award. He is also the director of the critically acclaimed documentary, For Grace, which premiered at South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival and was acquired by Netflix.
