ORLANDO, Fla. – Dec. 30, 2024 – This Thursday, Jan. 2, Telemundo 31 Orlando / WTMO, Telemundo Tampa / WRMD and Telemundo Fort Myers / WWDT will present the live special ‘Puerto Rico: Nuevo Gobierno’ covering the inauguration of Jenniffer González as Governor of Puerto Rico across the Telemundo-owned stations’ TV, streaming and digital platforms from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. ET. The coverage, including an exclusive pre-show at 9:30 a.m. ET, will be available on the free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) regional news channels Noticias Telemundo Florida and Noticias Telemundo Noreste.
Produced by Telemundo 31 Orlando, the special will provide in-depth analysis and expert commentary on how González’s inauguration will impact Puerto Ricans living stateside and the island’s future.
González, of the New Progressive Party, will be sworn in as Puerto Rico’s new governor, succeeding Pedro Pierluisi. González won the November election, defeating Juan Dalmau of the Puerto Rican Independence Party and Jesús Manuel Ortiz of the Popular Democratic Party. González will be the territory’s first Republican elected governor since 2008.
