SAN JOSE, CA – September 16, 2024 – Telemundo 48 / KSTS announced today that Emmy Award-winning and internationally acclaimed journalist Dayanna Monroy has joined the station as a news anchor. Monroy will co-anchor Noticiero Telemundo 48 alongside Miryam Villarreal and César Bayona. She is set to join the station on Wednesday, September 25.

Monroy joins Telemundo 48 from Univision 14, where she served as a news anchor and reporter since June 2023. Before her time at Univision 14, she worked at Teleamazonas in Ecuador from 2014 to 2022, specializing in investigative journalism on both national and international issues. Her investigative reports, which have been broadcast in Spain, China, and the U.S., garnered significant recognition for their depth and impact. Monroy has also collaborated with media outlets in Argentina, Peru, and Bolivia, producing stories that crossed geographical boundaries and addressed regional and global concerns.

Monroy served as a producer for RTVE Spanish Television in Madrid from 2016 to 2017. She later became the producer, director, and host of the political show Las Cosas Como Son on RTP Radio in Guayaquil, Ecuador, from 2020 to 2021. Earlier in her career, she worked as a news reporter for Telerama TV in Guayaquil from 2010 to 2013.

Monroy holds a master’s degree in television and radio production from the Complutense University of Madrid and a master’s degree in strategic communication from Ecotec University in Ecuador.
