February 5, 2025<\/strong> – This Friday at 9 p.m. ET\/8 p.m. CT, Dateline NBC<\/em> will air an all-new report on the murder of tech titan Bob Lee. During the two-hour broadcast, family, friends, attorneys, police and colleagues from the tech industry speak out exclusively to Dateline<\/em>\u2019s Josh Mankiewicz about the case that made headlines around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During \u201cUnder the Bay Bridge,\u201d San Francisco Police Sergeant Brent Dittmer reveals that his team chose not to publicly dispute any theories that Lee was a victim of a robbery,  even though he believed early on that the person responsible for Lee\u2019s murder wasn\u2019t after his money. He tells Mankiewicz, \u201cIf that’s the story people are gonna run with, that is an advantage for us because the people who are responsible, we don’t want to know what we know<\/strong>.\u201d He continued, \u201cLet everybody think that this is whatever’s on Twitter at that time. We’ll work on what actually happened.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lee\u2019s former wife also had a hard time believing he was robbed, explaining, \u201cHad Bob been approached by someone that was trying to mug him, he would’ve given him, them, the shirt off his back, his wallet, his keys, his clothes. He would’ve said, \u2018Hey, man, let me buy you a meal. Please don’t hurt me.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
