EXCLUSIVE \u2013 SEN. MARCO RUBIO ON MAKING THE MUELLER REPORT PUBLIC: <\/em><\/strong>“ABSOLUTELY. I WANT TO SEE ALL OF IT\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

MARCH 24, 2019<\/strong> \u2013 Rep.\nJerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) <\/strong>said today on Meet the Press<\/em> that\nexecutive privilege \u201ccannot be used to hide wrongdoing\u201d in the Mueller report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The chairman\nof the House Judiciary Committee told moderator Chuck Todd, \u201cThe president must\npersonally assert executive privilege. And I do not believe it exists here at\nall \u2026 The president may try to assert it, may try to hide things behind it. But\nI don’t think that’s right or be successful.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He continued,\n\u201cIt’s critical that everything in that report and the underlying evidence be\npublic, be open to the American people, that transparency is key. America needs\nanswers as to what’s been going on. And I hope that the Department of Justice\nwill not leave things hanging by seeking to keep things secret.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked how\nhe interprets no new indictments from Robert Mueller, Rep. Nadler said, \u201cThere\nare lots of investigations going on by other agencies \u2026 And there may be\nindictments from them. So, the story is not over. We don’t know. And beyond\nthat, we don’t know the reasons. Again, that’s one of the reasons we need and\nthe public needs to see the report.\u201d Watch the <\/strong>full interview<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) <\/strong>also\njoined the program for an exclusive interview and told Chuck Todd the Mueller\nreport should be made public saying, \u201cI want to see all of it\u201d including \u201cthe\nFISA applications because this is an extraordinary use of government\nsurveillance power.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked\nabout executive privilege, Sen. Rubio said, \u201cI would certainly ask the\npresident to lean towards transparency.\u201d He continued, \u201cI’ve been very clear\nfrom the very beginning. I wanted the Mueller probe. I wanted it to be\nconducted without any interference \u2026 when it was all said and done, the best\nthing for the country and for the president is for this probe to move forward\nand to be concluded.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sen. Rubio\nalso said he doesn\u2019t \u201cunderstand\u201d President Trump\u2019s continued attacks on the\nlate Sen. John McCain. \u201cI was an admirer of John McCain as a man, and a lot of\nthe things he did in the United States Senate. So, no, I don’t understand that\nfeeling about him and I don’t think, frankly, he is the person that should be\nsingled out for these attacks.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked\nabout the president\u2019s 24-hour reversal on the Treasury Department\u2019s announced\nsanctions on North Korea,\nSen. Rubio said, \u201cI’ve never seen that before from this or any administration\n… I don’t know why he would do that or why it happened the way it did. It’s\nunusual.\u201d He continued, \u201cI think people around the world would look at it and\nsay from now on, when they hear about sanctions, they\u2019re going to ask for\ndouble confirmation from the White House. So, look, I wish it hadn’t happened\nthat way, and it shouldn’t have happened that way.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sen. Rubio\nalso said, \u201cI would love for Kim Jong-un to give up his weapons and everything\nelse. I would. And I don’t criticize the president for trying. I just never\nbelieved he would. I don’t believe he ever will.\u201d Watch the full interview<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
